Maloof is all anyone’s talking about this weekend and we’re looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype. To get a local NYC shredder’s perspective, Radcollector caught up with Luis Tolentino, who tells us in typical Tolentino fashion, that Maloof makes him think of Guam.
To go along with their new board drop last week, SHUT also released a couple banger new t-shirts. The Riot, Bold Eagle, and Skyliner are also all at SHUT Skate Mechanics right now. The holiday is almost over which means skate season is officially here! The other two tees after the jump.
In addition to launching their new site this week, SHUT also dropped four new boards, the Bold Eagle, The Woodland, the Always and the Junior Varsity, a kids deck with artwork by prolific Lower East Side street artist Marco. All four have just hit SHUT Skate Mechanics on Orchard.
SHUT has launched their spanking new website ushering in a new age of digital domination for the OG NYC brand. Radcollector will be running a giveaway with them in the upcoming days so study up on your SHUT history yo. Check it out here.
NYC ollie hero Luis Tolentino scored his first ever cover this month with the new issue of For The Krew. The Florida-based mag gives the SHUT shredder a six page spread where he talks, among other things, about how skateboarding saved him from both baseball and cutting down sugar cane. You can check the whole feature online here or grab an FTK at any shop worth their shit.
We had to show you this pic of global teen pop sensation and Usher boy toy Justin Bieber ollieing a SHUT deck in Teen Vogue. Why you ask? Because we love his music? Hell No! Because it’s clearly another sign that the apocalypse is upon us. When the locusts swarm and the rivers turn red, don’t say we didn’t warn you. Kid’s got some pop though right?
We had the exclusive first look at the SHUT x Milk deck featuring Nicole Trunfio by Hunter Barnes. The Frank151 crew pulled #151 out of the total run of 200 and are offering to give it away to the person who sends in the best skateboard graphic-worthy photo of a girl . The winner may even see his or her image pressed into a limited edition deck. Send entries to info@frank151.com. Go here for more inspiration.
This is something you don’t see every day. Fashion maestro Karl Lagerfeld paid a visit to Shut Skate Mechanics on Orchard Street today while he was shooting on the block for his next campaign. That Shut’s Mat Terwilliger and Adam Schatz on either side both of whom graciously declined Lagerfeld’s challenge to a game of S.k.a.t.e.
The etnies Space got turnt out last night for the release of the SHUT x Milk Studios collabo deck featuring Nicole Trunfio. Plain and simple it was skateboards, models and PBR, what more do you need? Check out some more pics after the jump.
