TheGoodLife! and Sailor Jerry officially kicked off BBQ season in NYC with a rowdy dinner and domino party at The Cardinal in the Lower East Side recently. Familiar faces from the action sports world like Nigel Sylvester, Eli Reed, Trouble Andrew, and our own Tim Brodhagen threw down against a cast of characters including tattoo legends Oliver Peck and Corey Miller, photographers 13th Witness, Mel D Cole, Cole Barash, and Ricky Powell plus musical artists Kilo Kish and Telli from Ninjasonik while Matt Van Cura of Invisible doled out some ink. Once again the fam at Burton Snowboards and TheGoodLife! teamed up to host Burton’s 2014 line preview & “Apres in May” at Milk Studios in NYC. NYC’s TheGoodLife! dropped a new mixtape with Professor Puffington aka Ricky Powell and DJ Smoke L.E.S. over the weekend on 4/20. Far from your typical stoner tape with nothing but Snoop, Wix Khalifa and Cypress Hill on it, Professor Puffington’s Lost & Found Loose Joints…Deluxe Edition Mixtape is a smokey four hour and twenty minute music marathon with rare grooves and extended plays from the likes of Sylvia Striplin to Lee Morgan to ODB. Adventurer, climber, photographer and pro The North Face athlete Jimmy Chin recently joined TheGoodLife! collective and has been contributing some ultra rad imagery to the site. One of snowboarding’s purest and most epic events, the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mount Baker in Washington state is almost the snowboard equivalent to Mecca, with every true shredder pledging to be there at least once in their life. While the X Games were raging more than a hundred thousand deep on Buttermilk Mountain a secret cabin tucked into the foothills of Ajax was where the really rad action was happening. Peter Line got his first ever tattoo while Halldor Helgason’s magic tour bus touched down for a session right before the Major Lazer girls went on a twerk fest and Bun B and his wife got matching heart tattoos. Phoenix Sun Channing Frye came through with one of the Jackass dudes and Louie Vito contained his urge to dance to the sounds of Roofeeo from TV on the Radio. While the X Games are raging in Aspen, NYC’s TheGoodLife! has posted up with Sailor Jerry to create the Cabin. A quick getaway in downtown, the Cabin features haircuts from Frank’s Chop Shop NYC, tattoos from Downtown Terry Brown, music from Roofeeo, beer from PBR and of course TheGoodLife! dominoes. TheGoodLife! returns with their 4th installment of their collaborative mixtape series with Ricky Powell and DJ Smoke L.E.S. The latest, Professor Puffington & The Invisible Jazz Cigarette Mixtape features cover photography by Craig Wetherby and nearly three hours of “smoke friendly” music, if you know what we mean. Our very own Editor in Chief Tim Brodhagen, who’s usually the guy asking the questions, had the tables turned on him recently as part of Braun’s Built to Perform interview series. Skateboarding and snowboarding collide with the release of the “Joystick “series of snowboards by Burton featuring images from New York City skateboard photography book Full Bleed. Burton’s Soho Flagship store hosted TheGoodLife! produced launch event for the 2013 collaboration where guests enjoyed treats from The Meatball Shop with drinks from PBR, Smirnoff, and music by DJ Smoke L.E.S.. The Crosby Press was in the mix and got a chance to connect with the books creator, Alex Corporan and Radcollector’s Brad Clarke for their thoughts about the epic night.
