Burton Snowboards turnt it up another level with the New York City premiere for 13 this past Thursday. Partnering with TheGoodLife! Burton transformed the storied Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts into a shred palace that fully demonstrated the diverse breadth of the snowboard massive. Models and artists mingled with bro-brahs and shop rats in the 1830’s era synagogue while plied to the tilt with complimentary PBR and Smirnoff for a lineup that included DJ Smoke L.E.S., DJ A-Dog, Roofeeo from TV on the Radio, a burlesque fashion show, the movie premiere and then full sets from Flatbush Zombies and the RZA. Terje Haakonsen, Mikey Rencz, Mark Sollors, and Ethan Deiss were on hand for the madness along with everyone from Jake Burton and Shaun White to Daria Werbowy and even Ol Dirty Bastard’s son Boy Jones. It’s too hot to skate, but no snow to shred so you might as well spend the rest of the summer playing dominoes. As part of their Family Dinner x Domino Night series of events in NYC, TheGoodLife! has seen games featuring P-Rod, Travis Rice, Danny Kass, Pat Moore, Justin Bennee, Darrell Mathes, Louie Vito and many more. After Burton was done previewing the 2013 winter line at Milk studios in NYC they connected with TheGoodLife! to throw Apres in May, a rooftop jumpoff complete with bottomless PBR, Akvinta Vodka cocktails including mint chocolate chip shots, Arnold Palmer sno-cones and lime/cucumber Shredders and more gorgeous women than you could shake a stick at. Burton Snowboards has invaded NYC for the week to show the new line for the 2013 season and we got some looks at the goods. The line includes collabs with the Muppets, Red Wing, Coogi, and a rad binding called the Bootlegger that has a super flexible hi-back. To close out the preview Burton has teamed up with our fam over at TheGoodLife! for an exclusive party in the Penthouse at Milk Studios tonight. All the media attention may have shifted to the Euro X Games but visually, historically, and culturally, the 30th anniversary of the US Open was the highlight of the 2012 season. TheGoodLife! and Louie Vito got together once again to make shred life history with their annual blowout event at the Belly Up in Aspen. This year’s party starring Raekwon and Ghostface Killah with DJ’s Spider, Tina T, and 12th Planet plus a surprise takeover by the Lady WuTang was an over capacity jumpoff that had the likes of Trouble Andrew and the Trouble Gang, Santigold, double X Games gold medalist Mark McMorris, Torstein Horgmo, Mikkel Bang, Kazu Kokubo, Danny Davis, Keir Dillon, Sal Masekela, Jake Burton, and even a gang of NFL’ers including Zane Beadles, Adam Weber, Blake Haudan, Jon Hoese, Eric Decker, Knowshon Moreno, Dave Bruton and Zac Robinson throwing W’s in the air til the early morn.
