Last month we linked up with the crew from The Crosby Press and left frigid NYC for some sunshine out in California to get a behind the scenes look at Mountain Dew’s ad campaign for its new breakfast energy drink, Kickstart. With the skate team on hand we spoke to Paul Rodriguez, Theotis Beasley, Keelan Dadd, and new team rider Nick Tucker about being on the Dew squad. Check out what went down on our mission from Glendale to Venice. Filmed and edited by Leighton Pope.
In episode two of Skullcandy’s EuroSnaps Theo and Eric take over Copenhagen, exploring an abandoned brewery, stopping by the Copenhagen Pro and taking in the attractions. Enjoy.
Skullcandy took Theotis Beasley and some friends like Eric Koston and Sean Malto over to Europe this summer to see what kind of trouble they could get into. The result is Theo’s EuroSnaps, a web series from their journey across Barcelona, Copenhagen, and Paris. Here’s a taste.
The final stop of the 2012 Dew Tour went down in San Francisco a couple weeks ago and we got the chance to link up with Paul Rodriguez and Theotis Beasley before the street finals went down. Get a look at the skate street course, Bmx Dirt, FMX and a special performance from Lil Wayne. Shot by Brad Clarke & edited by The Crosby Press.
In the latest dose, Tim Brodhagen joins the entire Nike SB team in celebrating SB’s tenth anniversary. From a walking tour of famous NYC skate spots with Lance Mountain to an epic demo with P-Rod, Sean Malto, Stefan Janoski, Theotis Beasley, Eric Koston, Alex Olson, Brian Anderson, Dylan Witkin and more, it was an historic day in NYC skateboarding. Shot and edited by Edward Grams Jr. Hit the jump for more photos from Highsnobiety’s coverage including looks at the new Koston 2.
We’re not totally sure if this is 100% official but Sneaker News has the story on these Dunk Low’s from SB deemed “Black History Month.” According to the story they were designed in part by Theotis Beasley and will be part of a big February 2013 roll-out from Nike.
Lil Wayne and Mtn Dew opened the DeWeezy aka Trukstop skate park at the Lower 9th Ward Village Community Center this Wednesday with an opening ceremony that included appearances from the Birdman and Juvenile and an epic skate session with Paul Rodriguez, Theotis Beasley, Keelan Dadd, Justin Schulte, Cody Davis, Boo Johnson and Carlos Zarazua. The facility, which was created from recycled materials and features the largest solar powered array in the Gulf, is a bright spot in a neighborhood that still hasn’t fully recovered from Hurricane Katrina. In fact, there are numerous abandoned buildings on the same block as the park. Despite all the skepticism of Wayne’s involvement in skateboarding, it seems clear from this interview with Tim Brodhagen and the fact that he charged the park for almost two hours that he is committed from the heart. You be the judge.
If you didn’t know, that’s Theotis Beasley in the new 2 Chainz x Drake video for “No Lie.” That’s the type of gigs you get when you sign with Roc Nation. Catch the video here. Nice work Theotis!
Theotis Beasley was in NYC last week to skate, chop it up with the homies, and get ready for another breakout year as the nicest guy in skateboarding. He linked with Tim Brodhagen at 21 Mercer to talk about Dew Tour developments, his take on Weezy, and when oh when will he be getting a pro model with Nike SB. Then he hit up Tribeca Skatepark to skate. Check it out.
