TTR Snowboarding has a brand-new, free App for the iPhone and iPad. The App gives you access to rider profiles and rankings as well as a look at all the current contenders for the TTR World Tour Overall, Halfpipe, Slopestyle, and Big Air titles. We reported on TTR’s rad design contest for their new trophy designed by Mark Landwehr a little while back. Well the results are in and Swiss miss Axelle Dorado has beaten out 1700 submissions to create the 2011 TTR trophy. TTR recently commissioned a new trophy figure from German artist Mark Landwehr. Similar to a blank Kidrobot Munny, TTR is offering aspiring artists the chance to dress up Landwehr’s mold into the new 2011 TTR Champion trophy. Terje Haakonsen, TTR Board of Directors President Reto Lamm, Mark Landwehr, Swatch President Arlette Elsa Emch, and Pascal Johansen, founder of “Illustrative Berlin,” will judge the winner who will also get a two week trip to Shanghai if they win. TTR has put together this dope video tracing Peetu Piiroinen’s history making season. The back to back TTR King has petty much a permanent place on every podium he steps to.

Peetu Piiroinen made history yesterday by winning the Oakley Arctic Challenge in Oslo and clinching the overall TTR title for the second straight year. The double win comes right on the heels of his silver medal in Vancouver. Yeah you could say the kid is having a good year. Homeland favorites Torstein Horgmo and Mikkel Bang took second and third. Iouri Podladtchikov blazed into Calgary this weekend to take the pipe at the Burton Canadian Open at Canada Olympic Park. After stomping a perfect Cab 1080 double cork mute, frontside 1080 tailgrab, Cab 720 mute, frontside 540 tail and backside air, he got the white cowboy hat and moved up to 2nd place in the global TTR standings. He really is on some Obi-Wan “strike me down and I shall become more powerful than you could ever imagine” shit. Check him out diabolically murdering the Burton New Zealand Open this past weekend with back to back double cork spins and then go back to perfect Spicoli-esque nonchalance for the post run interview. The 2009 Burton US Open is going down this week at Stratton, Vermont. Now in its 27th year, the US Open brings the best riders in the world back to the east coast for the last major snowboard event of the year. Riders will compete in Quarterpipe, Halfpipe and Slopestyle and in addition to the individual event prizes, both the TTR title and the Burton Global Open crown are up for grabs.
