In more news from Vans, they have thrown their gauntlet into the iPhone video game arena with the release of Vans Sk8: Pool Service. Available at the iTunes store and compatible with both iPhone and iPod Touch, Vans Sk8: Pool Service puts you behind Buck Lasek and Omar Hassan as they cruise for abandoned pools to shred. The 3D games uses iPhone’s accelerometer and multi-touch functions and is customizable in almost every way. Overall, the gameplay looks pretty sick and will end up being another reason why you can’t seem to get any work done, plus at $4.99 it beats the hell out of any $60 PS3 game! Vans Snow has announced a collaboration with Protect Our Winters for the 2009/10 season. The collabo will consist of re-constructed versions of it’s top of the line men’s Cirro and women’s Veil snowboard boots with eco-friendly materials including 100% recycled PET textile, 50% recycled PET synthetic and non-toxic water-based solvents. A portion of proceeds will go directly to POW to help them fight global warming. You can’t be mad at that.

This June, Vans will be releasing Off the Wall, aimed to be the definitive insider history of the brand’s first 40 years. The book will feature stories from legends like Tony Alva, Steve Caballero, John Cardiel, Shaun Palmer and Joel Tudor as well as artists and athletes like Descendents, KISS, AFI, Bad Brains, Mister Cartoon, Neckface, and Robert Williams. After giving you a look at the Vans x Parra collaboration pack the other day, we show you today the Fall 2009 Pixies Sk8 Hi.

The Pixies and their music have influenced bands across multiple genres and more importantly set a strong base for music decades after their introduction. It also helps that they started in Boston – a city close to our editors’ hearts.

Expect the Vans x Pixies Sk8 Hi to release some time this summer.

Vans is at it again with the legendary D.C. hc band, Bad Brains. For Fall 2009, Bad Brains gets the snowboard boot treatment.  The snowboarding boot comes with Vans’ technical draw-pull system and full cinch liner. The Bad Brain logo is embossed prominently on the outer.

As part of the Vans Spring 2009 collection comes the Caballero Hi “20 Years” edition. The sneaker comes in two solid colorways with a printed croc pattern on the side panels. Both the side panel and the tongue come with a Caballero tag and the heel features a “XX 1989-2009″ embroidery.

A nice new pack by Vans has been released. The pack consists of a Chukka Half Cab and an Era, both coming with black uppers in leather and suede, yellow stitching and a yellow/black design on the mid sole. The pack is now available at ABC Mart.
